What connects V Tower Prague, Centrum Masaryčka, Quadrio, Trinity Bratislava and Wardian London? Original, sophisticated and eye-pleasing structures made of glass and light metals - all from the Sipral design office.
At the time of its establishment 30 years ago, Sipral focused on the partial supply of special bonding and sealing using silicone sealants. Gradually, however, their expertise expanded until they were producing entire glazed structures.
"We create reliable building cladding and interior glass structures. Through them, we create utility value and build long-term partnerships with our customers."
At the beginning of 2022, Sipral was facing three contracts worth approximately CZK 1.5 billion, with implementation in Prague and London. While such sums and locations are familiar waters for Sipral, from a technology perspective each project brings new challenges. That's why the CTO has been looking for ways to manage projects efficiently and improve work processes.
Until then, they were using Excel and other less flexible software to manage schedules and capacity. They searched for a long time and tried Basecamp, but it didn't work. The main selection criteria were that the tool was fit for purpose and, most importantly, that it was user-friendly and intuitive for scheduling tasks. Finally, Sipral's technical director Martin Lukeš discovered Freelo on the Internet and found that it met all the requirements.
"The technical director presented the advantages and the potential of Freelo so convincingly that we didn't hesitate to implement it into the company at the screening."
We know that sometimes it's challenging to adapt to new tools and processes in a team, so we first introduced Freelo in a training session with practical demonstrations. Thanks to this, most employees quickly learned how to use Freelo. Each employee can also use Freelo's materials and support as they need it.
"Most designers see Freelo as a useful tool for improving productivity and work organization."
In less than 2 years, he has created a sipral in Freelo:
Sipral has chosen a logical structure of projects, To-Do lists and tasks - each job has its own project. The task tracking function and the fact that each task has its own solver contribute to the efficiency of work.
Shortly after Freelo was implemented, they noticed positive changes in their workflow. More efficient organization, better communication and task tracking led to increased productivity and quality of work.
"Our meetings have been cut in half. The designers know exactly what they have to do and, more importantly, by when it has to be done. And if they don't know, they simply look."
Sipral expects further growth in the near future, expanding the market and working on innovation. It seems that they have a number of interesting projects ahead of them, which they will manage and communicate about in Freelo.
In an ideal world, assignments after the deadline would not exist at all. In order to get closer to reality, a filter on the Dashboard helps to display the tasks after the deadline and the responsible person then checks them, asks about the status and adjusts them accordingly.
